The Opening Ceremonies for the Special Olympics World Winter Games took place on Tuesday, Jan.29th in Pyeong Chang, Korea. This was the first day of the Games that will held from now until Feb. 5th.
According to the hosts of the live Ustream broadcast, the Republic of Korea has been a place of hope, unity and acceptance. Their were over 2,000 Special Olympians who will be competing in seven different sporting events and one demonstrating event. These athletes come from 110 countries. They will be competing in first-class facilities, venues, and at a world-class resort. This location will be the same host city as the 2018 Winter Olympics Games.
In the following live Ustream broadcast, the hosts start at the 4:50 time. Then, the parade of athletes starts at the 7:45 time of the part I video.
